Happy B-day
I can remember playing with the 4004 chip and even toasted a few trying to see how fast it could go. The first real PC I used was made by Ohio Scientific called a Super Board 2. Also played with the 8085 training boards and did some machine programing. Things have really advanced since then and once you understand the workings and how they operate the next generations are just including more peripheral devices inside the chip. The advancements that allow the stacking of substrates on top of each other and using electron beams to cut the junctions will continue to allow the increase of more junctions in a single device. A complete PC on a chip is possible and the only connections need to be for protection of the chip from outside charges and the peripherals like keyboard and drives.
