Zuckerberg speaks: Lessons learned from Beacon

Link to turn off Beacon won't work for everyone..: ...i went to the link in Zuckerberg's open letter and tried to turn off Beacon entirely, and it wouldn't let me. It gave me the following text, which appears to indicate that turning off Beacon won't work until you have visited a Beacon partner site first.

"No sites have tried sending stories to your profile. When they do, those sites will appear in a list on this page."

When I tried going back to the main privacy page (http://www.facebook.com/privacy.php), I found that I couldn't adjust the privacy settings for External Websites from there either.
