Wow, great news! And, hopefully this will shame Google into getting the
offline versions working.

But, as I have said before, you need something a lot better than Java Script to get more complete functionality offline. Zoho for instance will not be able to make the file filters work offline as that can NOT be done with Java Script.

So, until we have a better sand-boxed high level language as part of gears, the offline functionality will have to remain simple. I imagine that Java will win out.

Also, given that FireFox is adding SQLite to FireFox, that will reduce the size of Google Gears.
