Books are ugly too....
There is very little in the modern shelf uglier than the modern book. There is something deeply satisfying about deep walnut hand carved shelving lined with rich leather volumes cared for with the proper oils and preservatives...but when was the last time you saw that?
This device is about the reader. It is not about the beauty of the device. It is about the tactile experience of the reader rather than the airlessly sleek techno experience of the ultra modern early adopter. It is about the comfort of having the same old feel and the same old look in your hands.
If you can fit a paper-backed book in your case as you do now, you will find room for this wonderful device! Will it get better? Probably...new features and all... Will they change the size? Probably not..or all of the customers who read books will go to products that are similar. This is not an effort to anialate the book. It is an effort to allow the reader to take a comforting library of good reads with them rather than make the terrible choice of one or the other due to size and space available.
