Green Contest???
Regarding the "green" one upmanship mentioned in the article, one historical method of reducing power consumption is simply to avoid using it; you know, like Ebenezer Scrooge rationing coal, i.e., turn off the lights, install fewer and dimmer lights in your office space, limit the A/C, etc.

So computer-wise, installing less memory, smaller displays, ink-jets over laser, fewer systems, and things like that, all save power and might be used during marketing to claim being "green".

That kind of thinking is pure deception plain and simple.

Therefore all advertising and company information should accurately compare power consumption to the immediately previous power requirements (not 3 yrs ago) having the exact same set of capabilities.
