Irony alert: Mahalo IS seo
For all of Jason Calicanis' bluster about SEO, Mahalo's entire business model is basically just one blatant SEO gambit - setup a bunch of keyword-rich link pages on the most popular search queries to try to position yourself as an authority site that will in turn rank well in Google for all these searches (which of course means gobs of free traffic which you then try to monetize on the backend with ads, ironically Google's.)

We've already seen firsthand how this can basically generate massive quantities of traffic for other sites. How many times do you see a Digg thread come up in Google for a general tech-related search? How about Wikipedia for pretty much ANY Google search? They don't realistically expect people to start off their searching at Mahalo. They just want to tap into that high-volume free traffic from Google. Gee. That sounds like SEO. wink
