Not quite...
Just with a new name: Sidebar / Gadgets. Name and implementation is new, but the concepts are the same.

The difference between the channel bar and the Vista side bar is that the channel bar was pretty much useless unless you frequented the sites listed. In a nutshell, the channel bar was nothing more than a bunch of links to web sites out in the wild.

The Vista sidebar is a special window that allows you to mount actual programs - like clocks, RSS feed monitors, eBay monitors, voo doo dolls, currency converters, etc.. - that DO useful stuff.
