Limitations
Docs are limited in what they can charge for a patient visit. To put ads in their face during a patient encounter is not going to be popular, even if its free. Anything that gets in the physician's face during the visit is going to be rejected.
Free is not so new: new federal regulations permit hospitals and others to subsidize physician practices in getting EMR going and lots of players are starting down that road. Cost of EMR is certainly a barrier to adoption, but not the only one.
And at $250 per month, the subscription price is a good bit higher than other subscription SaaS players - and a lot higher than physicians are likely to accept.
Last but not least: if you've got my data, I ain't got my data and that's pretty scary. Hosted services are not very popular with the physicians around here!
