The technology available today has the power to enslave everybody and the political will to use it for such purposes is demonstrably already here.
(For "your own good" of course.)

The internet has the ability to make "the truth" almost impossible to suppress and also has unprecedented capacity to help bring about some world-wide unity and much needed co-operation.

I am against censorship, fragmentation or localised control for any purpose other than thwarting international crime or atrocities such as child-porn. Even then, it should be sparingly applied and as narrow in scope as possible.

btw - IMO, Bush should never have been allowed to happen either and I wish that he had more worth than just his buffoon entertainment value.
