He's wrong about the Long Tail

---The long tail doesn't work. If you look at it today, whether "American Idol" or "Pirates of the Caribbean," bigger things are even bigger.---

Bigger things are indeed bigger, but there are fewer and fewer of them. How many huge blockbuster movies were there this year compared to 5 years ago? How many platinum albums?

Also, my complaint with movie theaters is not the ads, but the behavior of the patrons. Every theater in my area serves as a de facto daycare center for teenagers, who (along with an annoying percentage of adults) insist on talking on their cel phones throughout the movie. Put a security guard in the theater, enforce a code of behavior, block cel phone signals and you'll win me back as a customer.
