Very important, beleive it or not
Maybe I'm in a humorless mood this morning, but having watched that video, I thought to myself, "maybe if my managers learned to wine & dine, our budgets wouldn't get cut." This kind of thing is important for IT people. They seem to think that they are special or exempt from the rules of the business world, when the reality is that they now are so integrated into the business that the head IT person is a C-level executive. When IT people try justifying showing up at a meeting looking like they just woke up, thinking that being a slob makes them "authentic", they are delusional. If IT people don't learn the soft skills, they face the danger of being treated like janitors: ignored unless the job is done wrong. Oops, too late. It is already like that.
