Writing great Windows software is possible without help
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/?p=153

So I personally don't buy the argument that Office got a leg up. Word Perfect for the longest time laughed at Windows 3.x and left it wide open for MS Word. Lotus 123 laughed at Windows 3.x for MS Excel. Ventura Publisher laughed at Windows 3.x and left it wide open for PageMaker. The list of DOS kings goes on forever. They have no one to blame but themselves for sitting on their rears while Windows took off.
