Microsoft joins OpenDoc committee, and the motive is...?

Microsoft will not be able to do anything nasty here, All eyes are watching: them. Being part of the process will help them learn and understand the process, but not much else.

Of course they will be working behind the scenes to derail ODF, but this position will not help them much.
