You're missing the votes that really count in Massachusetts: SAIC, CA, etc. -- the companies that will be developing the enterprise infrastructure implementing the ETRM.

Most of them aren't even known by name to most New England techies. If you want a real story, right in your own back yard, get some names from Peter Quinn and interview them for their take on it.

The desktop software is going to be at most $50 million. The rest of the plumbing -- bespoke software almost all -- is going to run several times that. Basing any enterprise decision on desktop market share is a major case of tail wagging dog.

You're the reporter -- go out and hunt down the story.
