The Social Engineering Dilemna
Very interesting article. I am curious however to see how your solution would handle social engineer such as malware providing totally plausible explanations for it's activities. As an alternative, create your database and have applications present themselves to a firewall standard call (web service, api, whatever) that would then verify the veracity of the requester (much like SSL) and either allow or disallow the traffic based on this without user interaction.
