Unless you can provide the rich tones of voice that the Harry Potter CD narrator does, listening to dull, nerdy "and ums" in a monotone is HARDLY the future be-all, end-all of broadcasting (the musical equivilent of Mick Jagger - who's voice could never manage more than 3 different notes). Just WHO has time to listen to podcasts? If you have time, and there are a multitude of monitors/screens around you - then WHY would you listen to something without video? I think that the journalism world is hot on this trend - and they self-reinforce their out-of-touch views with each other.
