suggested that mouse use, rather than keyboard use, may be responsible for RSI, and my own experience is that it may be true. Beyond that, as a graduate student who uses my (portable) computer 10 or so hours a day, I was getting pains in my elbows and shoulders. I solved that by installing a keyboard tray below my desk -- a faster, less time-consuming and more certain solution than a lawsuit.
