I think incendiary
Broadband has totally pervaded the western world now, and we
are on the brink of video on demand being common.

the xbox360 is evolutionary, but the PS3 seems revolutionary, as
it seems to be able deliver a realism that is beyond some
invisible border that makes it seem real, and everything else
seem like a toy.

Why does this matter? For the first time this year, video games
have exceeded film in worldwide sales. In other words, these
games are THE chosen form of entertainment.
You can regard them as an interactive film of sorts.

In the virtual 3d world of the future, artisans will create designs
for army tunics, and sell them to great online generals.

Except, that trade of virtual assets has been big business for
some years now, with games like Sony Everquest.

Everquest has GDP larger than many countries.

A lot of people won't understand this new economy, and see it is
totally false compared with the real world.
However, think about the ridiculousness of the real world:
we spend a fortune on music, good tasting food, good tasting
drink, cars, fashionable clothes, watching escapist movies, toys,
and software to make music etc.
All the above are completely unnecessary, and start as ideas in
the minds of people, and what is sold is re-formed physical
matter, but really a perception.
In other words, there is far less seperating a beautiful mansion
in a virtual world online and a real mansion, than you would at
first imagine.

Architecture/art are a purely cerebral thing. People don't live in a
Maoist / Spartan world, just wanting the minimum requirement
to survive.
When we buy gadgety products, we've just buying the product of
someone else's brain.

The interesting thing is that if everyone could within five
minutes get a vast mansion in an online game, then the game
would be boring.... think about it, and the real world.
