Well it IS a problem for another reason ...
the whole purpose of the raw format is to get it from the camera to a standard format. What IS a problem is the fact that the CAMERA itself is arbitrarily rendered obsolete and useless by an arbitrary discontinuance of support. Its as if a manufacturer of a conventional camera suddenly stopped all production of film for it. This is why 35mm film format became so popular. You never had to worry about it going away. Manufacturers who pull this stunt should get a well deserved reputation. In the future when buying a camera, I personally will remove Cannon from the list right off. Who wants a camera that will be next to useless in a few years when the PC side can no longer support it?
