"After you convert them, they're not really HD now are they?"

Their goal is to stop the "sharing" of all their content. HD will not do that. DIVX is able to take a DVD and convert it to CDR size with no real loss in quality. An HD movie converted to DVD size would be the same. The fact that it is no longer HD is irrelevant, it is the content they are trying to protect.
