That's how rumors start.
Yes, companies about to go bankrupt try to give substantial amounts of cash to executives. Supposedly so they will keep doing what they've been doing so well. And yes, Apple's Board wants to give large bonuses to executives so they will keep on doing what they've been doing.

But that does not mean the company is going bankrupt, only that a country full of iPod buyers has dug deep into their pockets in order to make some executives multi-multi-millionaires. Apple is profitable, as we knew before these bonuses were announced, and will be profitable again after these bonuses have been paid.

And, as the Tyco case reminded everybody, the Board has to be very clear in announcing that bonuses and perks galore have been handed out. Remember, in the Tyco case the issue is whether Kozlowski told the Board about his birthday party costing $ millions. The Apple Board has clearly been notified about any birthday parties for these executives which each cost the company $ millions. The Apple Board is above board.

So I'd appreciate you not spreading rumors about any of this. You know what happened to the last people who spread rumors about Apple on the web.
