As for developers

It's not who easy it is to develope the game but where you can make the most money. If that means developing it for the X-box, Game cube, PS2 or any all three then that's what will happen. Developers want everyone to buy thier game and they don't expect you to rush out to buy an X-box to play your game when they know you have a PS2.

This won't change as all 3 console makers are coming out with a new console in the next year. Fans will buy thier favorite. Developers will make games for them all.

If the game comes from Microsoft then expect it to X-Box only and if it's from Sony expect it to be PS only. That's just common sense but the majority of games come from third party companies that play on all consoles and in many cases the PC too.
