How did it help them?
---There was no damage done, in fact it only helped them---

Let's see, they announced that Apple was releasing a product, "asteroid" that has not yet been released. How has this helped Apple? If anything, it's helped the competition get a jump on a product that's not yet out.

---considering you have advertisers you are woking with and art designers (not in your company), which do not have to follow the same rules---

These people have to sign NDA's, so they do in fact have to follow the same rules.

---Now the fact that free speech supercedes the trade secret law (only except in national security). Why is that so, because it's necessary in a democracy to get to the truth (in corruption cases/government waste/deceitful prcatices of business)---

This is not a free speech case. No one is saying that the websites could not post what they posted. However, like all speech, one must face the consequences for what one says, such as libel, slander, inciting a riot, etc. This is a case of freedom of the press--are bloggers journalists, and do journalists have a right to protect their sources? It's not about speech at all.

In this case, there are specific laws that apply, and no, "freedom of speech" is not one of them.

---Or how about government corruption where the government could say it was a secret and hide the truth and use their powers to muzzle whistleblowers---

You mean like how the NY Times reporters are going to jail because they won't give up their sources in the Valerie Plame case? Same issue there, and reporters are being jailed for it.

---Free speech is a right, defend it or you will wind up in a country where corruption reigns and crime pays---

And if you sign away that right in a contract (NDA), don't go blabbing to bloggers.
