So not really "both right"...
as the claim was that "Firewire is a Texas Instruments invention"

Apple actually "invented" Firewire. TI was simply the supplier/producer of necessary hardware hired to implement it.

Apple, like most manufacturers, does not fabricate its own chips, hardware, "parts", etc so obviously it needed to bring in an outside firm but to claim TI was somehow equal to Apple (or the inventor of), re Firewire, is a stretch.
