Single vendor solutions are the best

It will be interesting to watch. I'd wager that many people are fed up with Windows and are looking for alternatives....

Also, single vendor solutions are always the most reliable and have the least TCO vs open solutions. And it's for just those reasons you cited. If I make the widget from A to Z, I can design it all to work together flawlessly and account for "quirks" in things. However, even when things are designed to the same set of standards, incompatibilities crop up.

This is the reason for critical applications, companies still rely on mainframes and other big iron. 1 company to call, 1 neck to wring, and most importantly IT ALL WORKS TOGETHER FLAWLESSLY!
