Me too My Dell horror story Don't try their 1-800 # to compalin

"The last time I tried, the $499.00 Dell computer I selected magically became $799.00. And I couldn't remove enough items from the configuration to get it back to the advertised price."

A friend of mine tried the $499 offering and ran into the same problem. He called the 1-800 sales number to compalin and attempt to purchase the peecee that way. The sales guy told him that the offer was only valid online. ??????? was our reaction. My partner let me talk to this goombah. I re-expalined the problem and mentioned the notice to call 1-800 Dell sales.

We again were told that the purchase had to be made online. Making a long story short after an hour, 1/2 bottle of Jack Daniels, a bag of Doritos and bean dip, and a pack of cigarettes we hung up went to Fryes bought a bare bones system installed Suse Linux, I gave him an old CRT and we all lived happily ever after.

Dell went through some major customer service issues a few years back looks like Mike Dell and company are slipping back into their old habits.
