You can use the Belkin media reader to dump files onto your iPod, using it as a portable hard drive. But to view any photos using the iPod Photo function, they must be loaded onto the iPod using either iPhoto on the Mac, or whatever program they're shipping for the PC.

I do think this is a logical extension, being able to dump your camera's full memory into your iPod and go on shooting, and being able to view/show off the photos on the fly without having to use a computer as an intermediate step.
