TalkBack 1 of 1:
Sony is missing the mark, I think
For me, the future is something like the QuickTimeFilm Store or
the iMovie Film store. You rent a movie via download, you get to
watch it about 5 times in 6 months, play it through your
television and then, poof, it disappears. It's like Pay-Per-View
from the internet.

Would have to be better quality than Netflix, easier and faster,
cheaper, have DRM and an ability to not be recordable/
convertable to DivX or something.

But its coming.

The "iPod" strategy of a file-to-a-device probably isn't workable
and who wants to watch a movie on a portable player, anyway?
They've been out for months and really aren't big sellers. The
Media Centre/Mac Mini attached to a HDTV is really the future.

If Sony does this, they will miss the mark again, just like they
missed the mark on portable digital music.
