Non-identical processors
The PS2 is the most difficult to program game system currently because it uses non-symmetrical processors. The PS2 was going to be a great system; the hype was phenomenal. The early tests showed great numbers. However, in a real game situation the complexity of the machine worked against it, and performance was not that much better than the dreamcast, and definitely worse than the XBOX.

If the PS3 is going to be full of non-symmetrical processors, it will never function anywhere near it's full theoretical specification.
