- When the downside is an upside

I have a 2001 iMac (fanless) and a 2004 iBook (fan only comes
on if it is left running on a bed or other soft surface). So despite
everyone griping about the "slow" G3 and G4 chips, they sure
don't make much heat. So I have two virtually silent computers.
And as a further benefit, low heat means low power use and so I
have very long battery life on my 800 mhz G4 iBook. i have
never timed it but on my previous G3 300mhz iBook I timed out
