So just out of curiosity what would you have priced
this setup at?

Now you do realize that with the possible exception of Dell not a
lot of money is being made off the $499.00 system sold by Dell
and Gatewhy and such? So perhaps Apple will make a fair profit
off these systems and avoid the cheapo system problems that
plague other companies.

You do also realize that Apple is aiming this system at those
who already own the keyboard/mouse and monitor from a
cheapo PC system that is giving them problems? Granted I will
give you that the problems they are having in many ways might
be the owners themselves with a general lack of knowledge and
NOT taking the proper steps to keep their systems free of viri
and spyware..but still there are those who also suffer from the
fact that the low end system they bought was well too low end
and it's quality ment an early death.

So perhaps OSX and the simple applications bundled in with the
Mac will make their computer lives better and that is worth a
little extra at least?
