Agree, but I'm sliding...
---don't think any epiphany occuring with said product would cause me to tranfer my entire collection of music onto it (quite a feat) and then get rid of the original discs---

I didn't get rid of the original discs, but I have put my 105 G of 192kps songs onto a big harddrive, which I run from the iMac through the home stereo wirelessly using Airport Express. I'm finding that I don't really play cd's anymore, it's not as convenient (except in the car, but once I get a direct line for the iPod into the car stereo, that will change too).

And I do back up the whole library onto about 25 DVD's, just in case the hard drive dies, I don't want to spend another month re-ripping. I won't get rid of the cd's, but now I'm considering taking the racks down and putting them all into boxes or drawers.
