Define a "Trade Secret"
It seems to me the issue here is that Apple is trying to greatly expand upon what a trade secret is. We could easily say that should someone publish the formula for Coke they have indeed published a trade secret and doing so would cause great harm to Coke. If there were a process for creating stronger steel (there is) developed by a company, that to could be called a trade secret.

It seems to me what we have here, if anything, was a marketing secret. A two or three week (even two or three months) reveal of the product (assuming they are accurate) causes no harm to Apple in any way. In fact I can not think of any possible harm they would or could suffer. As many point out, the hype around Apple's introductions is something the Apple faithful look forward to. It's part and parcel to the community and that community root goes back to the very beginning.

The fact of the matter is Apple (Steve I.) had their thunder for the show stolen and they didn't like it, nothing more. This act of trying to force the press (and that is you and me folks) to follow Apple's marketing plans is an affront and I hope the author sues Apple in return for harassment. That is one defense fund I would write a check to!!!
