Hmmm maybe.
I've worked for some pretty decent corporations. 1000 people and more. One in particular treated me and all their employees pretty darn good. I hated to leave them when I blew out my back. It was my fault and the comapany offered me a job in office to keep me around.

You are right though there are some stone cold places to work out there. Problem is though the workers agreed to work there. I have walked away from some high paying trucking outfits because they treated their drivers like crappola. In the old days when I applied for a job I talked to as many folks as possible before hiring on. I also checked out their retention rate. Big churn usually equals cold company. I think that is more important than just interviewing with Mr. Happyface.

When I hire someone they are welcome to talk to my employees without me present. They know what they are going to get when or if they get hired. Granted I am one those small business models but at least I think we all get started on an even foot.
