Okay, I get what you're saying now, they've made it easier for third parties to write compatible software. That said, Apple's technology model has always been to control both the hardware and software side of things. It has it's problems, but it certainly makes things easier both for Apple and for users in some ways.

Well, when your needs arise, be sure to take a look at the XServe. The pricing for seat licenses alone make it a major bargain compared to some competitors.
