Talk to a teacher before you spout off.
You don't know any teachers do you. This is a profession where the starting salaries qualify you for food stamps, where you are expected to get an advanced degree on your time and on your dime while working full time, and where your hands are tightly bound by government regulation like "no child left behind". All the teachers I know refer to this as no child gets ahead because they are forced to spend most of their time trying to bring their slowest students up to a standard that they are mentally incapable of meeting while the brightest are left unchallenged. You say there is "all sorts of money thrown at it", I know teachers who have to buy paper for the copy machine out of their own pocket because not enough is provided by the school system. Try walking a mile in a teacher's shoes before you criticise.
