Scope of DRM ???
Dunno if I have misunderstood the DRM (and its grand father - DMCA) here ? The only thing DRM requires is that the provider is not making it easy to copy the original digtal content. But every thing digital has to be converted to Analog at some point. And that's where you are free to make a copy of it (Sony-Betmax case). Heck, I have been legally making copies of CD quality songs off my Internet Radio by recording the Sound directly from Sound Card. It does not matter what player/DRM is being used to play the songs. And i get CD quality digital content. I am sure the same can be done for Video. The only issue is minor inconvenience of recording in Real-Time versus the Download option, but with DSL speeds(768 Kbps) the Video downloads are anyway as slow as playing/recording in Real-Time...
