- heavyhanded tactics will kill the entertainment industry
-
All these overprotections and wacky locks will only eventually turn off everyone and make people less interested in entertainment overall. People are still interested now because they can record and transport media as they see fit. Once all this "your two week license has expired, please call Microsoft (or whoever else) to get it renewed" stuff gets going I think people will become very irked and offended and will just start to look the other way.
I think companies are releasing both technologies because they make money. I can't see anyone stopping selling CD or DVD recorders just because some 13 year olds are copying music online. There is just too much of a market for it, and deep down they (the industry) know that this cpoying isn't really hurting their bottom line. They just want to trick us into thinking that it is.
"So we'll end up with all these portable video players and have nothing to play on them except our own home movies."
Which can only mean the most wondrous boon to the homemade porn industry. Get the wifey to do the coo-ca-racha in her cute little nighty while you excitedly prance about like Federico Felini with some nice wood going.. - Posted by: Jeff Spicoli Posted on: 01/07/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
