It is interesting to see the tech companies like TiVO and MS coming out with means of taking your video recordings and making them portable, while at the same time, all of their products are under the thumb of the entertainment industry's heavy handed approach to DRM.
Want to record The Sopranos and take it with you? Ooops, sorry, broadcast flag won't allow that. Want to record Six Feet Under and watch it in 3 weeks? Oops, sorry, your DVR automatically erases it after 2 weeks. So we'll end up with all these portable video players and have nothing to play on them except our own home movies.
