"One will be even more willing to buy a new Mac machine if they know what kind of products that are going to be available for them in the future."

Or one would not buy until that new Mac is release. Remember Apple is a hardware company. If they told us that cheaper Macs are coming out at a future time, why would anyone by now?

Apple said in a statement to CNET News.com that the company's "DNA is innovation, and the protection of our trade secrets is crucial to our success."

Exactly what keeps Apple going strong today, and what keeps the fans loyal, innovative (exciting) products. If they were like the rest of the me-too OEMs, they would be out of business.
