The media has responsiblities
You are wrong and the law is very specific on this point. You are allowed to report anything you want as long as you obtained the information legally or from public sources. In this case the information was obtained though illegal means. Someone working for the company is telling someone else about secrets even though they are legally bound to say anything by a non-disclosure contract. It is up to "Think Secret" to confirm the information with Apple (in this case). Not only would Apple refuse to allow spreading the information; but in this case they, Apple contacted "Think Secret" asking them to remove the content and hand over their source. The source broke the law and "Think Secret" is also a party to that activity.

The problem is you are thinking in very basic terms because this is Apple. Had this been a trade secret for a McDonald-Douglas super-stealth, wiz-bang military aircraft, or maybe a super-secret weapon, you may have a different opinion. But the main thing to remember, how you received stolen goods does not absolve you of any wrong doing.

So where does that leave us? Well one thing is it is obvious that ?Think Secret? does not verify its information with companies. Therefore, how accurate is their ?reporting? if they ignore requests to not disclose things and never verify information? If that is the ?free press? you are after, then look no further than the trash tabloids found in supermarkets.
