Nothing new here, nothing revolutionary. This makes sense seeing that Apple bought out Emagic years ago (makers of pro audio recording hardware and software). There are also other makers that have interfaces or breakout boxes that use Firewire or USB, such as Creative, Mark of the Unicorn (I use the MOTU 828), Terratec, etc. The only thing that may be new here is the Apple branding and maybe a more consumer-orientated focus.
