>>> So can some of us but we don't want one. >>>
That's fine but some of do (want a Mac) so why do we get so much grief from Apple bashers because we chose not to join what many see as the herd of masochists (ie Windows users)?
>>> "...we have better things to do with our time than fighting viruses and spyware and reloading our OS...."
So do we. >>>
You wouldn't know it as you practically need to be a computer tech now to keep a Windows machine up and running with minimal fuss. The "average" user is getting more frustrated and angry with the weekly MS bug & security patches. Owning and using a computer is no longer easy or "fun" but a chore.
As tic mentioned elsewhere...

Why are computer buyers so cheap and why do consumers endure the continual hassles using Windows when they wouldn't put up with such "crap" from any other product???
>>> It's a computer, so is mine.
Owning an BMW doesn't make you a better driver.
Get over it. >>>
Cars are not created equal... all computers are not created equal. And the misinformation and outright lies re the Mac (double the price; no software; not upgradable/no parts; etc) reinforces that thought but only in the negative. For the new or non-technical user, many are missing out on a better experience because of all the anti-Mac misinformation (FUD) being spread.
No, owning a so-called "BMW" of computers seems to bother Windows users who cannot understand why anyone would chose what they perceive to be a better quality computing experience. Why do many car enthusiasts just enjoy driving their cars and treat them more than just a tool and means of going from point A to B?
Depends on how you define "better". Many Mac users can probably run more "efficiently" (integrated/well thought-out system, far fewer & critical bug/patch fixes, generally higher quality, etc) thus saving time = money (and overall... fewer ulcers). (Any independent TCO/ROI study/story I've ever seen favours the Mac over Windows. If you can find a contrary one (not sponsored by MS), please produce it.)
Many Mac users usually enjoy using their machine... while many "average" users (not tech-heads who live to rip apart their machine) find Windows more like work and no fun. (The Apple iLife apps in themselves make the Mac more friendly and fun for the "average" user.)
So maybe not better in a definable way but often happier and more satisfied. Why does that bother many Windows users so much? Pain and misery loves company?
It would seem that many Apple/Mac bashers are the ones who need to a) become better informed ; b) drop the auto anti-Apple response; and c) if they still don't like what they see, "get over it". - Posted by: MacCanuck Posted on: 12/21/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
