If I were to go with this system...
If I were to go with this system and get some useful work get done I will have to :-

1. Spend 200$ to get windows XP
2. Spend 300-400 $ to get MS office suits. You know nobody accepts resumes or use presentations in staroffice format.

or Keep linux and
1. Never play my DVDs on my laptop, because Xine and Mplayer sucks while playing most commercially available DVDs.

2. Never capture and edit my vide clips from my camcoder... or recompile the kernel for IEEE 1394 interface to work, and then download and install Kino and get frustrated and crib rest of my life about how useless and unstable video editing tool it is.

3. Nevel create good looking vector diagrams that I normally do with adobe illustrator ... Or download and install Sodipodi and cry when it crashes every 2 minutes and I lose my work.

Just accept it guys... Linux may be a stable operating system. But for it to be useful on desktop, first you guys have to write some useful and stable desktop applications. And provide a uniform look and fee on the gui. Now even if I set the good looking KDE plastik theme on my linux desktop, when gimp is opened it shows some horrible looking huge widgets (some GNOME/GTK crap I believe) and if I bring up adobe pdf viewer, it shows some horrible old motif widgets...

In short - linux on the desktop SUCKS... It is not worth paying even this 500$ to get one...
