This is why we call them notebooks

We call them notebooks now because no one could use one properly on one's lap. Particularly in the days when they were heavy and bulky and slid on your clothing.

But if people keep pulling desktops off the desk and onto the floor, I can't imagine it would hurt to take the laptop off the lap and put it onto the table, now would it?
