Yup, users are the winners.
In fact I think we will see a good deal more of the cell CPU in the near future. Apple is already there (or nearly so) and there is talk of a Windows port to the cell CPU.

Hmmm, wonder if we will be able to run the OS of choice on this hardware? Now that would be interesting.
