Sliding scales
---At some point I'd love to see Apple and the record compainies
come up with a sliding scale for pricing tracks and albums; pay a
priemium for current hits and pay less for older/less popular---

I would worry about this, as the RIAA has repeatedly proven they will continue to raise prices as often and as ridiculously as they feel is necessary to support their cocaine habits and prostitutes. I like Apple's flat fee, every song is equal, every label is equal. Perhaps a sliding scale with a maximum of 99 cents, but remember, the RIAA is already pushing to raise rates to $2.95 per song.
