I wouldn't wait for discounts
If Jobs is telling the truth there is no money to be made selling downloads at .99 US. The music downloads are the sizzle that helps sell the iPods which is profitable.

With all the other music download sites losing money and the music industry pushing for higher prices, the current prices may be as good as it gets.

BTW, Wal-Mart can price their WMA files at whatever they want. Their site still sucks, and I'll never pay for WMAs in any event.
