- RE: CRT's are back and cheaper? Sorry I'll stick with my LCD panel ...
-
I can agree and disagree with your statement. Most people don't own CRT's with a Flat tube. For those who do, you notice a much sharper, clearer and more accurate looking picture because the picture is not being bent over a curved surface.
Flat panels were never made curved so you wouldn't even notice a less then sharp looking picture, but not at flat panel's are the same. You have to own an UltraSharp one to notice the difference. Those difference's meaning a higher resolution, cleaner looking picture and a much better viewing angle.
Most people don't look for that, b/c all they see is the price tag is more for an ultra-sharp. Personally speaking there is no perfect viewing screen, and maybe never for a long time.
The only screen that will beat everything else hands down will be a NCTD or Nano-Carbon Tube Display, with the ability to 200x the times the resolution of LCD, Plasma and CRT's will be a pheonominal looking picture. The only catch is if there will be anything out there that could put a picture on a screen with a potential resolution of up to 160,000 x 120,000.
""I went from a professional high-res 1600x1200 19" CRT to a 19" 1280x1024 LCD panel.
What's nice about the panel is the quality of the pixels. It's absolutely crystal clear.
I went back to the CRT briefly a few weeks ago ... Ewwww ... CRT was okay, but the panel beat it by a mile.
... I guess that once you start down the path of a LCD panel, forever will hold be your destiny."" - Posted by: ajapierce Posted on: 11/19/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
