- in japan digital cameras are losing sales
-
because the cellphone cameras have become better.
Similarily PDA sales are not doing that well (same reason, cellphones are integrating the features).
Of course, there is no reason why the application need be on, or entirely on, the cellphone. Imagine setting calendar appointments on your laptop, (synced to the web), and a service calling you up to verbally (perhaps with simulated human face) to remind you of something important.
It's hardly far fetched or undo-able today.
It's possible bluetooth type earphones will come with a lazer head up augmented reality display.
I don't think you'd want a haptic glove while walking around the store, or keyboard glove. (heck I don't like gloves, and what if it was hot!).
So I think the "computer" will be a cellphone with bluetooth like headphone / head up (one eye mostly, perhaps a seperate sunglasses one for more detailed stuff).
I can imagine a mouse like those small thumb-trackball ones would be useful in this case, probably wireless tho.
(and using the keys on the cellphone).
Heck you could play Unreal Tournament on that rig! - Posted by: hipparchus2000 Posted on: 11/16/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
